Zane Goddard has claimed both Pole Positions and P2 & P9 Race Results at the Perth SuperNight.
Following Practice where Goddard set the Supercar track record at the time, Goddard was P3 on warm up tyres in Qualifying, before making his mark with a 54.4955s that topped the session, 0.1224 seconds clear of P2.
Goddard was beaten off of the line at the start and the leader gapped away, but he was able to peg back the leader’s gap to less than a second with 10 of the 26 laps remaining.
The second-year Super2 Series driver sat 2nd in the Championship after the Race and was yet to finish off the podium in the 2019 season after 4 Races.
Goddard completed a clean sweep of Dunlop Super2 Series ARMOR ALL Poles at the Perth SuperNight with his second Pole on Saturday with a 54.9154s.
The MW Motorsport Driver had a rough start to the final 26-lap Race, dropping four positions into P5 off of the line and finished the Race in P9.
Goddard missed out on the Perth Round Podium but remains 2nd in the Super2 Series Championship Standings, sitting 64 points behind leader and team-mate Bryce Fullwood.
“Not the result we were hoping for with a 9th place finish in Race 2. Unfortunately, I just made some mistakes. I learnt a lot this weekend and will come back stronger than ever at Townsville, that event was kind to us last year so let’s hope for the same in two months time! I can’t thank everyone enough for their kind words and support throughout the weekend.” – ZANE GODDARD
Goddard’s next event will be the Townsville 400 for Round 3 of the 2019 Super2 Series, to be held on 5 – 7 July.
